touring Cruiser I'm ready to upgrade from a Ninja250 to a cruiser type bike. I was wondering what would be the best choice?
I'm looking to upgrade from a Kawasaki Ninja 250 and step into the world of cruiser/touring style motorcycle. I've heard Harley are the best, but have heard good things about some other manufacturers too. I'm a short rider, only 5'5". If anyone has any advice, Id appreciate it, thanks!
I started out on a Honda Rebel and get a 650 Yamaha V-Star. I have been happy with the performance and weight and balance of the motorcycle. I have also completed a saddle sore 1000 on it, so It can be ran a highway speeds all day long or in my case it was 1,065 miles in 21 hours. It was also very comfortable. Seat height is 28 inches, which is one inch shorter than the ninja. Mechanically they are a very good motorcycle. For more information, please see the web site below.

Why is motorcycle insurance insane for everything but cruiser types?
I called Geico and they quoted me on a bunch of motorcycles. Cruisers were the only reasonable ones, but I thought the other types (sport, standard, touring, offroad) that I got quotes on were riduculously high! I even asked about the ninja 250 and that was 4 times the amount of a 750 shadow. How is that possible?
Unfortunately, Geico did not really tell you the complete background on their insurance rates which are primarily geared to how old is the motorcyclist and the number of years that the motorcyclist has been driving without any significant accidents or insurance claims. If you are at least 26 years of age and have been licensed to to drive a motorcycle since 18 years of age, your initial insurance coverage will be substantially quite lower than someone under 26 years of age who is just starting out driving a motorcycle. For example, I currently drive a sports bike, a BMW R850R and a early model Honda Elite 150CC scooter and the total coverage for both bikes for only public liability is $165.00 per year. And the insurer is not Geico but McGraw Insurance Services (800-303-5000).
I can only conclude that motorcycle insurance is still truly a bargain priced item which becomes more affordable once a motorcyclist becomes of age, that is, over 26 years of age.
First of all, I’m very surprised to see a comment, this big, just cuz I didn’t like this thing you call it ad. It’s just that I’ve never thought I’m that much of a pain in someone’s a$$.
Before I bought my Electra Glide I was in the market for a sport tourer from BMW. I chose the Electra Glide strictly for the price. I bought it for a price I could not say no to.
I can’t comment on “fun” since one man might like racing, while another might like touring… But comfortable? Were sport bikes ever considered this? Nuts being crammed to the gas tank and hunched over with your weight on your wrists? If that’s comfy you must sleep on a bed of rocks. Yeah, a touring, cruiser, and standard are going to be a lot more comfortable than a sports. They’re designed to be. My bike’s seat is wide, cushioned, and gives me a number of positions to adjust myself with. I can even put my legs up on the engine guard pegs and stretch out a bit if I wish. With a little fiddling, and assuming I wouldn’t roll off, I could even take a little nap on the bike.
YOu are not the only person who have ever met this kind of problem,I met this type of problem before.I have good experience here www.AutoInsuranceFree.info to solve the problem.

I'm still considering a ST1300 if anything happens to the 'Bird…
Knock on wood man!! I NEVER verbalize things like that, as every time I do, some jerk runs me over on the freeway…
