Four supersport
Looking for light touring bikes?
Peering into the future, I'm expecting to replace my current bike within the next three or four years. So I'm looking for ideas. I've favored sporty bikes up to now, but I'm facing some limiting factors. First, it absolutely must be able to carry some luggage. A laptop plus other work-related stuff (books, papers, folders and so forth). Side bags might work, but I've seen what some companies consider side bags: lunch boxes strapped to the sides of the pillion seat. Second, I'm not buying a dresser or some giant beast of a bike.
So. The Japanese give me supersport tourers or Gold Wings, BMW has all but abandoned any reasonable touring bike. I've seen a few possibilities at Triumph, but am I missing anything else?
Some suggestions:
Kawasaki Versys
Triumph Tiger (more a tourer than off roader)
BMW F800: road or GS version
Yamaha TDM 900
GSX 650 (new model)

How does an automatic choke work on a four stroke motorcycle and what parts needed?
Recently i heard that some supersport four stroke motorcycles are using an automatic choke similar to cars. I was thinking to install such a system to my motorcycle but i dont know what parts i need. I dont know if this system is only available to injection systems, as my bike is a four-inline cv-carb.
I think it would be possible, by installing a heat sensor in the collector box to an actuator that would operate the choke lever?. But maybe i need something else to prevent the engine being flooded?.
Fuel delevery from the fuel injectors, is regulated by the ECM (computer) which reads engine temperatue be means of temperature sensors.
The sensor tells the computer what the engine temperature is.
If the computer determines that the engine is cold, it will tell the fuel injectors to shoot in more fuel - the amount is determined by the temperature of the engine
It's a complex set of checks and balances and not something you can just bolt onto another vehicle.
