my 2005 zx6r 636 street bike runs kinda funny. spits feul out of tailpipe and smokes at full throttle?
i have a 2005 kawasaki zx6r that i bought about 6 months ago. this has been a issue on the bike since i bought it but haven't worried about it till now. it has 10000 miles on it. i notice it does not get very good gas mileage compared to other bikes. also it spits out black specs from tailpipe at idle like it is running Rich. also if i gun the throttle it puts out a pretty good size cloud of black smoke. i notice also maybe a little power loss but i don't know because i have never ridin the bike without the problem. he said it used to have a power commander but took it off. i thought that might be why but i called the dealership and they said that would not happen. if anybody has anything that might help me it would be greatly appreciated.
I have a friend who lost use of his right arm in a street bike accident. He still has the arm attached it just doesn't have the ability to move…cut to a couple years later, we were right about to go home from a rather long road trip and I was wishing I was there already. I walked into the room where he and a couple other friends were sitting, threw myself onto the couch and said “ughhh I would give my left arm to be home right now”…at that point I would have given both arms to take that comment back.
Hey just joined your blog .I am planning a trip of my own for next spring and a friend recommended your blog as a ‘beginner’s guide’ for what I can expect etc..So far so good and thanks for all the ‘heads up’ info ,it’s appreciated. Too bad I didn’t know of your trip earlier I could have stopped some stupid mistakes on my part. I am considering maybe 1 buddy BUT am probably more apt to go alone, no problems that way , no arguments of where to go and time etc ..What’s your take on that issue at this point of your trek ?PS..planning Dead Horse ..Starting Ohio on a 05 Road Glide ?????? I think your course would be too much to expect our of such a pure street bike but how about Alaska?
