My 4.5 months old wakes up every 2 hours at night and I am so frustrated at this point- what should I do?

My 4.5 months old has never been a good sleeper. The only time he had like 4-5 hour stretches was from the time he was 2 months old till 3 months. Then he began teething and woke up very frequently. During the day he never naps more than an hour at a time, a total of 3-4 naps a day. I nurse him every 3-4 hours and he is a very happy baby with POOR sleeping habits. He actually just got over a cold 2 weeks ago, and during that time he barely slept at night and I had to hold him in my arms to help him breath. Since then, he's been waking up every 2 hours. I know he's not hungry but its just for comfort. He has also been rolling from his tummy to his back during his sleep, which causes him to wake up very early in the night, like an hour after the first nighttime feeding. Any advice? should I start thinking about sleep training? CIO ? I am planning on weaning him when he's 6 months (march) so maybe I should hold on tight till he starts on formula and solids?

He is only 4 and a half months old and it is totally normal for him to wake up that much. Not all babies sleep through the night at that point. I do not believe in Cry it out, but you could try the Sleep Lady's book, it is a lot more gentle and it works well. I didn't do this till my son was 12 months old because he slept ok at night when he was in the same room with me but we moved him to his own room when he was one.

My son nursed every hour and a half to two hours till he was about 7 months old (bottle not breastfed) but he started sleeping 6 to 7 hours t a time at around 4 months. I wouldn't stress about it, it's just part of life.

Good luck!

How can I get my puppy to stop eating and ruining valueable items?

He's eatin 3 pairs of sandles and two prescription glasses costing total about 700 dollars. We have been really good about putting our shoes in the closest and glasses in their cases everday. But you know, we are human, and we do forget. Last night was a jackpot for him! He got a pair of sandles and my glasses! How can we teach or train him that this is not ok?
P.S. if you know of any good lazer eye surgeons in the south cal area please refer.
By the way this all happened while we were sleeping in the same room as him.

puppies are babies and don't know the value of your shoes or glasses; just like a baby you have to puppy proof; don't leave the valuables around for puppy to find them; that is a start; don't blame the puppy for doing what puppies do; blame the human who doesn't think to safeguard something they value and may be viewed as a chew toy to a pup

I would second what OnaZ said – mastering left handed voicings is essential. It’s also important to have a good basic understanding of scale theory and The Jazz Piano Book would be a good start. If you can, find other musicians to play/practice with – it’s great to have other people to bounce ideas off. Also, listen to as much music as you can, especially the masters. Some great recordings: Oscar Peterson – “Night Train” or “Plus One” with Clark Terry; Wynton Kelly – “Kelly Blue” or as a sideman on Miles Davis’ “Kind of Blue”; Red Garland – as a sideman on any of the following Miles Davis CD’s: Workin’ / Steamin’ / Relaxin’ / or Cookin’ with the Miles Davis Quintet; Bill Evans – “Portrait In Jazz” “Waltz For Debby” or “Sunday at the Village Vanguard”. There are a ton of other great pianists, but I feel like these guys are very accessible to beginners. I would suggesting finding a solo you really dig and transcribing it – a great one to start with is Wynton Kelly’s solo on Freddie Freeloader off of “Kind of Blue”. Transcription will help you develop a good feel and build up a vocabulary. Also, I would suggest picking up a copy of The Real Book – it’s not the best way to learn tunes, but it’s a good resource, and it’s important to know how to read a lead sheet. If you have the option, there’s no substitute for a good teacher, but if you’re really motivated, you can do it on your own.

  • Learn to transcribe music and you'll never need to buy or ask for sheet music anymore. You will need software like Transcribe! to slow down the music for you to pick the notes.

  • About a week for him to start telling me he's has to potty during the day. We started when my son was over 2.5. I have heard that if it takes longer than that for them to get the hang of daytime potty training, then they simply aren't ready and to try in a couple months. Now, nighttime potty training can even take a year or more, I've heard. We're still in pull-ups at night (it's been about three months of big-boy potty usage) and I've heard that this is pretty normal.

  • Ok what up 6:30 run to beach then train till 8 at night come home to see Due Date(I think it out)… If not my day is ruin.. Like always
