What is your favorite computer parts brand?
I'm thinking about building a comp. and i want ur guys opinion on what are the best brands? Why are they the best? How does the warranty hold up?
I'm lookin for all the parts fans, cpus, motherboards, graphic cards(preferably HD), cd drive(preferably with the ability to do blu-ray), monitor, casings, keyboards, mouse whatever! remember to back it up though cuz no points for just sayin a product.
This question is too broad to give you a good answer. If you stick with major brands you should be alright. Each product has their own pros and cons.
CPU : Go with amd or Intel (budget will determine which you go with)
Motherboards: I like asus and gigabyte (both have good products with good tech support if you have questions, although i had some problems with gigabyte boards in the past....but still good stuff)
graphics card: again i could write a book on graphics cards alone.... you either have ATI or Nvidia, if it is a gaming rig and you want 3d go with nvidia, if you want multiple monitors go with ati 5000 series.
cd drive: cd drives are pretty much all the same, id go with a brand that you recognize, like lg or lite on.
Everything else doesnt really matter, its all about preference,

Nah you don't need anything for it, just plug it in like any other graphics card.

We can still control the core components of a Harley®, but the days of making our ancillary (small) parts are America is over.”Anyone who has handles current Harley-Davidson® trim parts, knows that they are made to USA Harley specs. in Taiwan. Taiwan can make anything you want as long as you want to pay for it.Any Harley® parts I have from Taiwan are exactly as OEM. Even the HD® 1951-1954 script and underbar are perfect duplicates. Import tank emblem screw-holes match-up exactly with the OEM emblerm tank strips.No longer stainless, they’re chrome. And THAT is the sign of the times. Some items like s/s and cadmium plating are history. Read again, it requires at least 1Gb RAM (only 512Mb as you're using XP) and 256Mb graphic card so your system won't have a problem running it.

Bwwaaaahahahahaha….shoot, I almost hurt myself!Great post but, not nearly the end. I cant help but reflect on something I told someone recently..Harley thinks they are better than everyone else! That after spending time at the HD dealership to buy parts to repair my Road King. Dang!! They are spendy! HD really does stand for ‘hundred dollars’. Thats why we pour through catalogs and buy non-HD parts. I hope Harley can survive their “boutique” thinking. I hope we can all afford them if they dont!

Your printer minus the cable reminds me of what we are going through with our new LG washing machine. The cold water inlet hose has a small filter that has to be removed about once /month and rinsed out because we have very fine sand-like particles in our well water that can plug it up. (The manual tells you how to do it and to only replace it with an LG filter should it become damaged.) The last time my husband took it out to clean it, the little plastic handle tore loose. I called LG and spent almost half an hour on the phone trying to find out about ordering a replacement filter. They were going to “research” it and call me back. Five days later with no word from LG my husband calls and is told that they don't sell just the filter but the whole “unit' the filter goes it for $13.95 and we'd have to have someone install it. He sent off a nasty letter to LG. After about a week he heard back from them that while it was true that LG did not sell the individual filters, we could get them at Home Depot for $0.49, which is where we'd gotten the LG washer in the first place. They also said using the HD filters would not void the warranty.
Off he goes this evening to HD. About an hour later I got a call from him saying, “They (HD) doesn't know what kind of filter I'm talking about”-even though he took the manual with him. They did give him a phone number he could call to see if HD parts could help him.
As Snoopy used to say “ARRRRRGH!”

I have written about this before. Doing business in this country is reaching a point of critical mass from the standpoint of the consumer. Most of the time you can purchase an item, but you need to purchase ADDITIONAL ITEMS just to make it function in the appropriate or correct manner.
Good to know that you found the links enjoyable, it would be nice if others said so too. I found both of the links very motivating and interesting. When someone is doing a good job, I believe they should be pointed out, don't you agree? My new laptop (Dell) has power-point, but I am not all that sure how to use it right now, just came in the other day and I am learning the intricacies of its innards (Vista). It so far has not allowed me to see my stat's and says I need to down load this and that, which I do, but it is not working.

To answer your first question:
Dual booting is very common and in fact, most users use this feature. It's very simple to do, but you will need to buy the OS in order to complete it since it's not an upgrade. You can buy the OEM version which is cheaper though.
