Harley for sale?
I have a 2004 Sportster 883 xlc it has 1600 miles with custom pipe and aircharger kit. The bike is flawless, how much should I ask for it. I still owe $5500.
Supply and demand......too many of them out there. A dealer will offer you about $2500 for it.
So much for holding their value.

Start on something small and user friendly.
Cheap, small second hand bike for the first two years.
There's bound to be the odd low speed tip over.
Not a cruiser, they are terrible to learn on.
Think about a standard bike around the 250 cc size,i.e. the Kawasaki Ninja 250 is good, they have plenty of power for a beginner , handle well, are light and have good brakes.
A Sporster 883 is not a good bike.
Don't teach her to ride yourself, you'll only teach her all your bad habits.
Get tuition from a recognised provider.
Whatever your budget is for the bike, spend the same amount on proper gear, not stupid "Biker" style tassels , fingerless gloves and beanie helmets.
Have a look at this website for some learning for both of you, his techniques work.
