Purchasing a Harley Davidson?
I don't have any money right now, but im for sure gonna start saving up and hopefully buy a Motorcycle. Its not for me, its for my father. Hes had the same bike for over 20 years and he deserves a new one. ha ha. I'll also be paying the monthly insurance and stuff for him. But i don't know which bike he wants, and i don't wanna tell him i plan on buying one for him until i get enough money for a down payment or w/e. Ive never purchased one before so im not sure how everything works. But lets say my father wants the most expensive bike in the Harley shop..How much of a down payment should i be expected to put down? How much in advance should i already be ready for? Say he wants the most expensive one, how much per month will i be expected to pay for him to have his dream bike? I doubt hed pick something expensive, but id like to be able to give him that option. I want it to be a surprise that im going to buy him one, but incase he wants the most expensive one, i wanna be ready for it.
To figure out how much of a down payment you will need search on the internet for something called an amortization table or loan calculator. Figure on a price perhaps $20,000 to start with [this is not the most expensive HD by a long shot]. You can plug in different interest rates and length of payment to calculate the monthly charge. Pay particular attention to 2 things. How the interest rate affects the monthly payment and how the length of the loan affects the final price paid. Learn this and you'll be way ahead of the folks who blindly take loans only to find out later they bit off more than they could chew. Good Luck
