Are there any Harley Davidson groups or clubs for people in their 20's?
I'm 21 and I ride a Harley but most of the people I know either don't ride; or are my parents age. To be honest I'd probably even get with a group that wasn't Harley only but either way I can't seem to find a group of people around Reno, NV that is for people my age. To belong to a group that isn't around here could be fine too I suppose.
Most Harley riders are older, just because the bikes are so &*$()@ expensive that you have to be out ahead in life to afford one. I think the average age of buyers of new Harleys is around 50. (Actually that makes sense in a way, because it's a very traditional, 'old fashioned' motorcycle.)
I don't think there are any clubs that only want kids in their 20s. 8^) That would be age discrimination. Harley clubs use wealth discrimination, which is not illegal. 8^)
Call up the dealers in your area, and any big motorcycle accessories shops you might have around Reno (I bet there are a few, because it's such a nice area for motorcycling!) Ask if they know of any clubs. Often M/C accessories stores have a bulletin board with postings from local clubs about upcoming group rides, etc. Also look on your local Craigslist, clubs sometimes advertise there about events and rides.
Most clubs, even if they are named after a particular brand, don't discriminate by brand. In fact, here on the coast, I see lots of groups of Japanese bikes or Harleys, but when I see a mixed group I know it's a club.
