im about to work at a harley davidson parts store need help?
is there a web site that i can go to that will show the name of the parts and where its located and models that they make
they heard about me threw my auto class cause i can rebuild a engine when im 16
Here's how it was explained to me but please note I have never been on a HD parts counter; The first two digits pretty much dictate what model and area of the bike it deals with. (engine, trans, chassis, suspension, accessory,etc...)
The rest of the digits are simply a numbering listing. The suffix dash alpha-numeric digit system deals with year application, superseding, design updates, and obsoleting. -You will start to notice this pattern when looking up parts. It will be VERY important to get every piece of pertinent information from the customer to sell him the correct part that will work every time. Some people do get irate at a parts counterman and like to claim they were sold the wrong part when all they had to do was give the correct info in the FIRST place...
