What is the meaning of the acronym APS which was painted on the side of Harley Davidsons during WWII ?
This was found on 4 motorcycles which were returned recently from Moscow to the armament museum in Huntsville. The APS was within a five pointed star, and was printed on each side of the gas tank.
It was part of the Army Postal Service. It was a messenger bike for the troops and their only connection with home.
