Harley Davidson Insurance -Typical Cost?

I am a 19-year old male who has been riding a motorcycle for about 3 years and took a rider safety course. I was wondering what possible insurance costs would be for a Harley 883 Sportster, probably a 98 or newer (probably nothing newer than a 2005 though). Specifically, I was wondering about American Family Insurance (but any general info would be appreciated too). I am looking to upgrade my bike (along with the size of my engine, ive been driving a 250 for a while now). I beleive american family cant even cover sport bikes for a rider like me, so i was thinking about getting another cruiser/standard style bike. i have kind of been drawn towards Harley, but if insurance is too expensive, ill have to look for something else. Does anyone have any other suggestions for bikes? or general info? thanks
and does anyone know if American Family considers the 500 Ninja a sport bike? I dont know if that bike would be my first choice, but i know there if one for sale around here...

Too many variables such as where you live, what your driving record is like, what type of coverage you're looking for, etc. Phone and surf around for different quotes. That will be the best way to find out which company is cheapest for you.

White Paint off Leather Motorcycle Seat?

I came home tonight (really, this morning) to find that my stupid, stupid cat had dislodged the cover on a paint can, knocked it over and then stepped in it. Deciding, I suppose, that wasn't stupid enough, he then proceeded to jump all over my father's Harley Davidson Dyna. He loves that thing more than his family and is not a big fan of the cat. I'm freaking out, because he'll kill this cat, no problem.

I got the paint off the chrome and the tank, but there is a PERFECT white paw print smack dab in the middle of the seat. I want to try to clean this before he even finds out, but I have no idea how to even approach this without damaging the leather. ANY ideas would be great.

I hope it's latex. You even have a little time before latex is a problem. First 3 hours just hit it with a terry cloth rag that is damp with warm water and scrub lightly til it is all gone. If longer add a little dish or soft hand soap and do the same. Even if it has been a week this should take care of latex.....unless you have already used a chemical on it. For some reason that changes the paint and actually makes it harder to get off.

If it is oil based you are probably buying a new seat. So you have nothing to lose by trying something. Get 'Goof Off' at the hardware or paint store. Put a little on a rag and only hit the paint spot. If it starts to work, be careful, use sparingly with lots of rag and just work it.

If it is black leather and there is just a trace of the paint left you might be able to blend it it with a black felt tip marker.

Sorry to hear you dad is one of those Harley types. I offer my condolences.

  • how loud is the bike by itself tho???

  • Wow… I really don't know what I would have done… OK, I am lying. I don't think I would have returned the money. I have student loans that I am still paying off and I have a really bad jones for a Harley Davidson Motorcycle. So I think I would have kicked my morals aside and kept the money. I probably would have justified it as “If she had this much cash in a purse, then she probably has tons more somewhere and doesn't really need this.” I know I'm bad… beat me down now!

That should be pretty obvious as the court held for Ferguson and against Consumers and awarded damages to Ferguson. (The loss of pre-judgment interest on the award on appeal, over and above the policy limits, is irrelevant to the case as far as how it relates to the relationship between the proprietor and the proprietorship.)

In short, there is no difference between the proprietor and the proprietorship. That's obvious even in the name of the insured as shown on the policy — both the proprietor's name and the name of the business. A sole proprietorship is not a separate legal entity from the individual. Therefore the court correctly ruled that the insurance company was liable under the uninsured/under-insured coverage of the policy.

The outcome MAY have been different had Mr Ferguson formed a corporation AND the policy been issued in the exclusive name of the corporation since a corporation is a separate legal entity.

You know, most of those people who post their questions in here actually know it's the wrong section. And that's the stupid part, they keep doing it.

I come so rarely here and expect to see a real racing question and I find this… Tell me how to go keep visiting Y!A when it's so frustrating!

Here, in Bulgaria, I don't have many friends who actually watch MotoGP and with whom I could talk about the races and this was the only place I could come and chat about my favorite sport and now it's turned into the wrong forum… It's not fair!
