How to choose the right Harley-Davidson for me?
Hello, I'm still a beginner and wonder what Harley I should go for between a Sportster Custom or a Super Glide/Street Bob. For what purpose would you choose one over the other?
Ps: I live in London, England.
You did not say how much of a beginner you are. The Sportster is a known beginner bike with the choice of engine being 883.
Now if you feel you have enough experience to ride either, well it simply comes down to the matter of YOUR taste and how the bike fit's you. I would strongly suggest that you go to the dealer and sit on each bike awhile. Still can't decide ?
It's a big decision so I would go rent a Harley, as a matter of fact 2 Harley's, try them out for the day each Then You'll Know.!

A loud muffler led to the arrest of a man in possession of cocaine and fake Social Security cards, Round Lake Park police said.
Police Chief George Filenko said Martin G. Alvarez, 33, of the 500 block of Laurel Court in Round Lake Beach, was being held at the Lake County jail Thursday for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.
Alvarez was charged with driving on a revoked license, no insurance, possession of a controlled substance, no muffler on vehicle and two counts of having altered identification.
Filenko said Officer Hector Lepe was on routine patrol about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday on Washington Street at Linden Drive

The Kustom Auto Show Alliance will hold its Kustom Auto Summer Nationals June 26-27 at the Washington Fairgrounds. Gates will open at 8 a.m. each day and close at 11 p.m. There is a $1 admission charge. Children age 10 and under can get into the show for free. The event will be held rain or shine. Morfab Customs, Show World Custom Classic Car Shows, Nostalgia Rod & Custom Association along with the city of Washington are partnering to host the event. Keith Moritz, owner of Morfab Customs, located on Highway 47 between Washington and Union, said organizers decided to hold the event in Washington since the city has never hosted a national car show before. Organizers also wanted to host a two-day event, noting that several other car shows around the nation are only for one day. During a two-day event, people will not feel so rushed, organizers agreed. Frank Luigi, Show World, said he has been acquaintances with Moritz for about 12 years. “We’re both gearheads,” he said. The two started discussions of a car show/swap meet about three years ago and started planning this event in January. The night before the swap meet, the Washington Parks Department will hold a free movie night Friday, June 25, at sundown at the fairgrounds. A poker run will take place Saturday afternoon, June 26. Also on Saturday, from 5-10:30 p.m., a nostalgia cruise-in will take place for vehicles made before 1988. The cost is $5 per car to participate. The parks department will hold its annual balloon glow at dusk Saturday. A car show will take place Sunday, June 27, with registration being held from 9 a.m. to noon. Awards will be given at 4 p.m. A registration fee of $20 will be due at the gate and dash plaques will be given to the first 150 people registered. Judging “The car show will be judged by professional judges who have about 13 years of combined experience,” Luigi said. Bruce Kunz, known as the “Fin Man,” a member of the Specialty Equipment Market Association, the largest after-market organization that deals with boats, motors, cars, trucks and audiovisual equipment, also will attend. Throughout the two-day event, organizers promise entertainment, games for adults and children, food, activities, fun and more. “It will offer everyone something,” said Dean Bittick, a car show organizer and enthusiast and retired teacher from East Central College. Vendors may reserve spaces at a rate of $30 for one day or $50 for two days. If vendors register before June 1, the cost is $40 for both days. Luigi said national vendors, including GM and Ford, will attend. Organizers will have cars at the following events to promote the car swap and car show: Sunset on the Riverfront – Thursday, May 27; Senior Trail Day – Wednesday, June 2; Music at the Market – Thursday, June 3; Jaycees Demo Derby – Saturday, June 5; and Sunset on the Riverfront – Thursday, June 24. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network, Healing Heroes and the Down Syndrome Association. “Gob of silver”…do you mean the hand crafted sheet of silver plate spelling out Grassi in graffiti style?
“Custom Street” as the semi literate hooded yoofs might say.
Guided by your evil laugh, you know the answer to that….All the sound goes down the inside!
I shall take a full frontal shot in the morning & ask Alan to post it.
