You did not give the year of your bike? At any rate if its a 90's model on the right side (Brake Side) in front of the rear tire on the frame is a black tube with a silver colored plug in it, the plug is held to the frame by a tab lift the tab up pull the tube from the frame, unscrew the hose clamp and pull the plug from the hose, after the oil starts flowing take your oil cap off and it will flow faster..If you have a 2000 ish then same location but the oil plug is screwed into the frame in the same general area,its a bolt, remember to use a new o-ring and thread tape when replaceing it...also change your oil filter at the same time..DUH.. A suggestion if you are interested in doing some minor service to your bike purchase a service manual from amazon ( get a used on and save a couple bucks) good luck. Almost forgot whne you put the silver plug back into the tube and mount it back to the frame, make sure you put the frame tab over the silver plug not on the hose or it will wear through the rubber tube.

There are heaps of aftermarket pipes that you can fit to your bike.
The first ones that spring to mind is Lazer and Staintune. Both will give the bike a good sound. GTY-R may also make a exhaust system for your bike and it will be specifically designed for you bike to optimise power, but dont be a Harley pretender. Put on pipes that a specailist advises you to fit for more power and sound.
Its a good idea to have sports air filters fitted at the same time, and also have the carbs rejetted and tuned to suit.
If you want a Harley sound, buy a Harley. Your bike will have its own unique sound.

Generally the V&H B/R pipes are better on bikes that need to breathe with monster cams, and larger displacement upgrades: 119 ci and above. (seems unnecessarily expensive just to get the same sound as slip ons)
I put on a set of Screamin Eagle slip-ons at the same time as a stage 1 download, a S/E breather and set of Andrews #26 gear drive cams. Mine runs like a strpied azz ape Yeah, man… Do what you please; Its your bike and you're the only on that has to be happy. Changing the bars is cool, but the other guy is right… it involves adapted cables and brake hose….you gotta really want to change the bars to go through all that.
It would be a lot cheaper to just replace the mufflers rather than go with a whole new exhaust system. Screaming Eagle mufflers will run you about $350 or so and you won't need to add a fuel pack. They aren't too much louder but do have a nice deeper sound.

Yes, it's possible, but take it slow ask questions, and think about a custom softail, looks just like a hard tail, but you have about 4" of travel, and join club chopper.com they have shop forums, builders forums, and a lounge just to BS, and if you got any questions about anything, you'll get all the help you need, if you see mycoldfeet on the that's me, Look at the builders pic's and members pic's and get some ideas, mine doesn't have a stock part on it.
